Inaugural Meeting for Health and Wellbeing Special Interest Group, Bioscience for Business

Bioscience for Business is a Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) funded by the Technology Strategy Board which provides support to UK businesses in the biosciences, encourages collaboration and promotes innovation within these sectors.

Bioscience for Business coordinates the BBSRC Diet and Health Industry Research Club (DRINC) which is providing funding for strategic research to support the food industries within the UK. The Special Interest Group aims to provide a complementary, open access forum for networking between the food sector, legislative bodies and academia through development of a special interest group.

This first group meeting covers a topical issue for the food industry, the developing situation with Health Claims Legislation in European markets.

Confirmed speakers: Claire Hughes (Marks and Spencer); Nino Binns (NMB Consulting) and Sean Strain (University of Ulster & Chair of Working Group on Claims for NDA Panel (dietetic products, nutrition and allergies), EFSA)

The meeting is open to all interested parties in the food production and supply chain and registration is free.
