Cradle to Market

– Adding Value to the Concept: Knowledge Sharing HEFD Event

Thursday 27 March 2008
Dunblane Hydro

Recent research within the food and drink industry and academics has identified diet and health as an area for increased investment that ultimately can generate commercial advantages for companies through closer collaboration as early as possible.

The event will focus on how concepts can be commercialised by either companies or academia.  Inevitably, the link of how collaboration with academia to undertake research and develop market opportunities will be explored within a commercialisation context.

Funding sources will also be discussed - eg the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) has established a new fund of £9m for research including £1m from companies in the food sector to support high quality, industrially relevant research within the UK universities and research institutes.

The event will take the format of presentations in the morning followed by an option for one-to-one meetings with any of our four main speakers in the afternoon for delegates to receive individual advice on achieving successful partnering opportunities based on innovation and technology.
