Bottling Wine in a Changing Climate

20th May 2008
Royal Victoria Dock, London

At this session, WRAP will unveil findings from the GlassRite Wine project, report on its achievements and look forward to future work planned with the international wine industry.

GlassRite Wine was launched in 2006 to promote lightweighting of wine bottles sold in the UK, and to encourage more wine importers, brand owners and retailers to bulk import their wine and then bottle it in lighter glass bottles manufactured in the UK that use recycled glass.

The briefing session will enable attendees to gain a better understanding of the benefits of lightweighting and bulk importing such as reducing their carbon footprint, meeting consumers' demand for change, and the associated cost and resource efficiency benefits.
