The labelling of food and drink products is a complicated process with many commercial, marketing and legal requirements to be met. Not only can making labelling errors waste time and money but they can also mislead and confuse consumers. Recent changes in legislation now require that specific allergens be labelled in order to give consumers information for them to make informed choices.
Creating a food label is not a simple task, consequently this course has been developed to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to prepare legally correct labels for today's food industry. Delegates are encouraged to bring one or two labels for the group to review in a safe and confidential environment. The programme will also cover what you can expect from enforcement officers and will outline the potential consequences and penalties when getting it wrong.
The course includes challenging hands-on exercises to test delegate's new found knowledge. The course is suitable for individuals with little or no experience of labelling legislation and is a useful refresher for those wishing to keep up to date.
